iGott Island Cuisine

Irma Gottshalk retired after 22 years in the Army as a Human Resource Manager and decided to follow her passion for cooking. She attended Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School and due to her natural talent, quickly rose to the top of her class graduating with honors.

Irma opened iGott Island Cuisine as the premier Caribbean restaurant in Temple with authentic specialty dishes including oxtail, goat curry, and jerk chicken. Irma offers weekly specials, homemade novelty items, and military discounts for her growing list of customers. Active in her community, Irma is a popular fixture at local festivals like the Southwest Brunch Fest and the African American Art Festival. With support from PeopleFund, Irma was able to make leasehold improvements and purchase equipment for her popular restaurant.
